To fill your home with holiday cheer, follow these simple holiday decorating ideas from ProBuilt Construction! |
For the families of Highland, Annapolis, Bethesda and all across Maryland, the holiday season is quite possibly the best time of year, but with added holiday chores, it can also be the most stressful. Along with regular day to day activities, there is extra shopping, gift wrapping, cooking and cleaning; it is easy to see how holiday decorating often takes the back burner. To help you get your home ready for the holidays, ProBuilt Construction, a longtime Maryland home improvement company, along with their sister company, Barwick Interiors, would like to offer some quick, simple holiday decorating tips for busy homeowners.
Chose a decorating theme; your holiday decorating theme may resemble the current decorating style of your home, for instance, country, contemporary, or elegant. You may also base your theme on such things as snow men, Santa Claus or Christmas trees
Chose a color scheme; for a less distracting, “busy” feel, try decorating with two or three colors, such as red, white and green or blue, silver and white
Candles, candles, candles; holiday scents, such as pine, sugar cookie and cinnamon are warm and inviting and are sure to get your nose in the holiday spirit as well
Stick with white lights; as your tastes change over the years, save yourself money by investing in white lights rather than colored lights, white lights go with everything
Add holiday spirit to every room, not just the living room; holiday decorating does not have to be limited to the family room, consider placing small knickknacks, ornaments, holiday towels and scented candles in the kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms throughout your home
Let the kids make your ornaments; this is a great “family-night” activity and can quickly become an annual family tradition
Don’t forget the front door; in lieu of a traditional wreath, try welcoming your guests with a basket of greenery and berries or consider hanging a small, old-fashioned, wooden sled on the door for something totally different
No matter what holiday decorating style you decide, if you take a few minutes to decorate your home, you can completely surround yourself in holiday cheer!
ProBuilt Construction, along with Barwick Interiors would like to wish everyone a joyous holiday season and for all of your Maryland home improvement projects in Highland, Fulton or throughout the state, contact ProBuilt Construction today. We are ready to be your trusted Maryland carpenters!
